Whitney Bloomfield Learning Center

OUR GOAL

Our goal is to assist children in developing a lifelong love of learning. We have certified Montessori teachers on staff, as well as utilizing other teaching methods. Our staff is experienced, well-trained, and deeply committed to caring for young children. We attain this through individualized, creative, and challenging programs for all ages in a well-planned and organized environment. Our competent and compassionate teachers are certified in infant/child CPR.

INFANT PROGRAM

TODDLER PROGRAM

Every day the toddlers at Whitney Bloomfield experience circle time, music, story time, art, age-appropriate games, outdoor play, two snacks, lunch, and nap time.

Our two main goals in our toddler room are potty training and social skills.

We teach and reinforce social skills, including having the children follow simple directions such as throwing away their cups and napkins, putting art work in their cubbies, coming to circle time, keeping their hands to themselves, putting toys away and being kind to others. Each of these skills prepares the children to progress to our Montessori classrooms.

Walking infants have a daily pre-circle time that begins to teach structure to the children. Toys that teach colors, shapes, counting, large-knobbed puzzles, books and snap-together toys, along with other things, are utilized during this short "class time."

While we have facilities for both changing diapers and pull-ups, our toddler room also has a child-sized, 10-inch, off-the-floor flushable toilet.  We give lots of praise, stickers, and a bell that the children can ring when successful with the toilet. Everyone in the room stops and cheers for the child ringing the bell.
